Hi, I'm Libby. And this is my lifestyle …
I am happily retired from a life of teaching (which I loved), now doing whatever I want, whenever I want.
I love to sew, travel, read, cook and, now, it seems to blog.
My love of sewing comes from my mother who, out of necessity, always made our clothes. I remember, as a teenager, mum sitting at the sewing machine on a Saturday afternoon making the outfit I would wear that night.
A beautiful fabric sends a tiny thrill through my spine. Sewing is like meditation for me. Creating gifts for friends and family gives me a lot of joy. My Etsy shop now helps to justify my sewing addiction.
My love of travel began in 1979 with 9 months in Europe in a VW Kombi van. I thought it would be the one big trip and I would have purged travel out of my system. How wrong I was! My all time favourite places are Portugal, Turkey, Morocco and Bali.
I love to read and read and read. As the Head of English at my school, I read endless teenage fiction. Now, thankfully, I can choose what I read. I enjoy a range of styles, but am less inclined to fantasy and sci-fi.
I like to cook, especially for occasions like Christmas lunch and dinner with friends. I love my home and our community. Living by the lake is calm and quiet. Our community is sharing and friendly, the best place to live.
I'm trying to improve my photography skills using my old DSLR Canon. It's a s-l-o-w process.
Blogging began as a way for me to keep in touch with friends and family when we were away from home while MLP (My Lovely Partner) followed his career.
I am still amazed and thankful that people from around the world take the time to read my blog. It's very humbling.

I live in our lakeside community with my lovely partner, MLP, and our new kitten, Kennie. Last year, sadly, our 12 year old orange moggie, Ralph, aka Ralphie, succumbed to renal failure. Kennie came into our lives early this year from the local Animal Welfare Shelter. He is cute and crazy and sweet.
Thanks for visiting my blog. I hope I've made you smile or laugh or that you've been able to pick up an idea or two.
